The fine print

Lands Beyond is a non-profit organization operating as a registered 501(c)(3) corporation. We are a volunteer-run Burning Man theme camp with a community drawn from across the world.
Lands Beyond is not Burning Man Project, nor is it affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Burning Man Project. Participation in Black Rock City is governed separately by Burning Man Project's own terms, ticketing, and policies.
Lands Beyond is non-profit. All proceeds — camp fees, donations, and contributions of any kind — go directly toward the camp's costs: infrastructure, shade, kitchen and food, water, power, transport, storage, logistics, art, and operational expenses required to build, run, and tear down camp.
No member, organizer, or volunteer profits personally from camp fees or donations. Camp fees are not tax-deductible. Surplus funds, if any, are carried toward future seasons and the camp's continued operation.
Burning Man takes place in a remote, harsh desert environment that carries inherent and serious risks — including extreme heat and cold, dust storms, limited or no access to medical care, physical labor, fire, art installations, vehicles, and other hazards.
By applying to, paying for, or participating with Lands Beyond, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with attending Burning Man and being present at the camp, and you accept full personal responsibility for your own safety, health, decisions, and belongings.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lands Beyond — together with its organizers, leads, volunteers, members, and representatives — cannot be held liable for anything whatsoever arising out of or related to Burning Man or the camp.
This includes, without limitation, any injury, illness, death, accident, loss, theft, damage to property, emotional distress, or any other harm sustained by visitors, campers, guests, or any other person — whether at the camp's location, elsewhere in Black Rock City, or in transit to or from the event, and regardless of cause.
You participate entirely at your own risk and release, waive, and hold harmless Lands Beyond and all associated persons from any and all claims, demands, or liabilities of any kind.
You are solely responsible for securing your own Burning Man ticket, vehicle pass, and transportation to and from Black Rock City, as well as your personal gear, medications, and anything required for your own survival and wellbeing in the desert.
You agree to follow the 10 Principles of Burning Man, the camp's culture of consent, all applicable laws, and any reasonable direction from camp leads. Lands Beyond reserves the right to decline or revoke participation at its discretion.
Camp fees are used immediately to fund camp operations and are therefore non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, your camp fee will be credited 100% toward the following year's Burn — you will not lose those funds.
